Abigail MacKay is an environmental educator who is passionate about the Great Salt Lake and the greater ecosystem. She was born and raised in Murray and has grown a deep love and connection to this watershed. Abigail is a proud graduate of Utah State University where she got her BS in Environmental Studies with an emphasis in Environmental Economics and Nonprofit Organizations. She is currently obtaining an MS in Environmental Science with an emphasis in Environmental and Indigenous Education from the University of Idaho. Through her work at U of I, she is also a CIRCLES Scholarship recipient and works to bridge the gap between STEM education and Indigenous Education. Abigail is Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) and is proud of her work to bring Indigenous perspectives into her love for environmental education. When not leading field trips and camp, you can find Abigail enjoying the beauty of the Wasatch through trail running, climbing, and skiing.
