Bio:

Deeda Seed is a Senior Campaigner with the Center for Biological Diversity a national non-profit organization working to secure a future for all species, great and small, hovering on the brink of extinction through science, law and creative media, with a focus on protecting the lands, waters and climate that species need to survive. She is a former Salt Lake City Council member, and city administrator, and over the course of her 40 year career she has worked to address a wide range of environmental and social welfare issues.

Title: Proposed Industrial Development: Impacts to Great Salt Lake Wetlands

Abstract: This presentation will focus on conditions of Great Salt Lake wetlands, including major threats posed by Utah Inland Port Authority subsidized industrial development, and other warehouse development proposals, and the larger consequences of wetlands destruction including Endangered Species Act listings, Clean Air Act violations, and more. Policy options including existing tools, those in development and new approaches to protecting Great Salt Lake Basin wetlands will be explored.
