Rachel White grew up in Ogden and studied economics and poetry at the University of Utah. She is the author of a poetry chapbook, The Velvet Earth After Rain, a love letter to Utah and the West which received a Utah Humanities Book Award. A long-time activist around social and environmental issues, Rachel believes that a healthy and thriving Great Salt Lake is key for the continued existence of life in the Salt Lake Valley.
