Volunteers will remove trash from Great Salt Lake's southern shores to improve critical wildlife habitat.
Please wear clothes you can get dirty, shoes appropriate for mud and sand, and pack a water bottle and sun protection. Gloves and trash bags will be provided, but feel free to bring any of your own supplies.

2,722 pounds of trash removed from Great Salt Lake’s shores! What an incredible effort by 143 rockstar volunteers and our amazing partners who made this impact possible.

2023 Cleanup Totals
123 volunteers collected 3,430 pounds of trash along Great Salt Lake’s southern shores. Higher up in the watershed, 21 volunteers removed 279 pounds of trash from Bountiful Pond.
In total, 144 volunteers participated in this day of stewardship and removed 3,709 pounds of trash and debris from local wildlife habitat.
This incredible impact is made possible by the collaboration of our partners and the service of many caring community members. We’re so grateful to those who continue to show up for Great Salt Lake.

2022 Cleanup Totals
136 volunteers collected 4,160 pounds (2.08 tons) of trash and debris from the southern shores of Great Salt Lake. This is a record for weight collected as part of this event.
2021 Cleanup Totals
107 volunteers collected 1,700+ pounds of trash and debris from Great Salt Lake's southern shores.
2020 Cleanup Totals
During a 10-day socially-distanced cleanup, 150 volunteers removed 1,784 pounds of trash from the shores of the lake and its watershed.
2019 Cleanup Totals
65 volunteers collected 2,171 pounds of trash and debris from Great Salt Lake's southern shores.
