Utah State University is conducting an open public survey of Utah residents about the future of Great Salt Lake.
Utah residents over 18 years of age are encouraged to take the survey here: Future of Great Salt Lake Survey
Each survey will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete and responses are anonymous. The survey will remain open through January 31, 2023.
Great Salt Lake is managed as a public trust resource for the people of Utah. Great Salt Lake continues to decline and reached record lows in 2021 and again in 2022. Avoiding negative impacts from shrinkage and potential loss of Great Salt Lake is currently an important and high-profile public policy issue in Utah.
This survey is intended to help public officials better understand Utahns’ opinions on the future of Great Salt Lake. Participants will have the opportunity to share their visions for the future of Great Salt Lake and opinions on strategies to secure water for the lake and its surrounding wetlands.
