The Good Line and RadioWest in partnership with FRIENDS of Great Salt Lake and INDUSTRY are pleased to announce a fun and engaging evening celebrating our city’s namesake, Great Salt Lake, and the efforts we can make as a community to see its health restored.
MC’d by Doug Fabrizio of RadioWest, the evening will include:
- The premiere of The Good Line’s short film Whales of the High Desert, a passion project 9 years in the making exploring the lore of the mythological whales that were said to be released there by James Wickham in 1890 and narrated by Dr. Lynne S. McNeill, PhD, professor of Folklore at Utah State University
- Panel discussion about the film and conservation efforts for Great Salt Lake. Members of the panel include: Doug Fabrizio, RadioWest; Bonnie K. Baxter, Ph.D., Director of the Great Salt Lake Institute at Westminster College; Dr. Lynne S. McNeill, Ph.D., Professor of Folklore at Utah State University; Holly Simonsen, Programs Director, FRIENDS of Great Salt Lake; Joseph LeBaron, Founder/Creative Director, The Good Line
- Delicious local offerings from: Black’s Sliders food truck, Pie Fight hand-pie stand, Salt Flats Brewing & Distillery for craft beers and cocktails
