Rep. Joel Briscoe lives just down the street from First Unitarian Church on 600 South, around the corner from Judge Memorial High School. He has served the community as the chair of the East Central Community Council, and on the Salt Lake City School Board. Joel was appointed to the Utah State Legislature by Governor Herbert in 2010. He is a member of the committee that helps fund public education and he is a founding member of the bipartisan Legislative Clean Air Caucus.
Kelly Hannah moved to Salt Lake City from Big Bear Lake, California in 1986 to attend Rowmark Ski Academy and later graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in film studies. He worked in Utah film production for several years before earning his real estate license and has been helping people with their real estate moves since 1999. In 2011 he opened Eightline Real Estate as an independent owner broker. Kelly’s passion for film making and photography resurfaced over the past decade as he began documenting his experiences around Great Salt Lake. Since 2019, he has actively served on the Friends of Great Salt Lake Board of Directors, supporting their mission to preserve and protect the Great Salt Lake ecosystem and to increase public awareness and appreciation of the Lake through education, research, advocacy and the arts. Kelly will be speaking about his lifelong relationship with Great Salt Lake; discovered and undiscovered insights about the connection between our most intimate personal experiences and the most substantial “bigger than us” challenges of our time.
