Bio:
Mark Mulligan is a seasoned engineering and project executive with over 25 years of international experience in the mining, mineral processing, and chemical industries. As VP of Engineering & Projects at Lilac Solutions, he leads multidisciplinary teams and oversees full project lifecycles—from feasibility through to construction and commissioning of pilot and commercial-scale lithium extraction projects.
Previously, Mark held multiple global leadership roles at FLSmidth, managing engineering and technology teams across five continents. His work covered a variety of technology areas, with a focus on business growth and execution, innovation & commercialization, and strategic growth initiatives.
Mark holds a background in chemical engineering and has authored several peer-reviewed publications. Mark combines deep technical knowledge with strong leadership and strategic vision to drive sustainable project and business success.
Title: Lithium, Lilac, and Great Salt Lake
Abstract: Lilac’s Solutions direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology is described, and results from the recent pilot plant operations at the Great Salt Lake will be presented. Plans for the ongoing development of the future full-scale commercial plant project will be described and how this will contribute to domestic US lithium production, and creation of jobs and taxes for the local economy.
