Bio:

John Luft is the Program Manager for the Great Salt Lake Ecosystem Program (GSLEP) at the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. He, along with avian and aquatic biologists, have developed a partnership with the brine shrimp industry to monitor and manage the commercial fishery on Great Salt Lake (GSL) through research and conservation. He also supervises a dedicated group of wetland managers that oversee 11 different Waterfowl Management Areas (WMA’s) encompassing 100,000 acres along the east shore of Great Salt Lake. After graduating Kansas State University, John moved out west where he has spent the last 25+ years working on or around GSL. He is an avid outdoorsman, spending his spare time hunting and fishing with a passion for wildlife and conservation.
